Breaking Into News

Media Trust has launched Breaking Into News in partnership with ITV News for the fourth time to give young people aged 18-25 an opportunity to be mentored by top journalists and produce their own news report.

This is an opportunity for young people to have their say about something that matters to them or their local community and potentially have their news report shown on television. No experience is necessary, just passion and enthusiasm.

To enter all the young person has to do is confirm they are aged 18-25 and tell us a little bit more about themselves and their idea at www.mediatrust.org/breakingintonews. Closing date is midday on Sunday 30th November 2014.

Nine finalists from across England and Wales will then be selected and will receive mentoring support from ITV News professionals to help turn their ideas into news reports for their local ITV newsroom. Each report will be considered for inclusion on ITV News and one lucky finalist will receive an iPad and given the opportunity to spend a day with the team producing ITV News at Ten.
