Working to the Head of Film CPD and Future Skills, this role involves working across ScreenSkills to devise, plan and execute virtual, hybrid and in-person events – including panel discussions for festivals and conferences, press launches, training and programme events, and other events engaging industry and stakeholders – to support and share the work of ScreenSkills. This is an opportunity for an energetic self-starter to take responsibility for delivering important events for a busy organisation at the heart of the UK’s screen-based industries. The contract will be to March 2002 initially and is likely to be extended.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver online events and hybrid events as well as face to face
  • Liaise regularly with all departments in ScreenSkills to establish their event requirements – this may include ‘light touch’ if they have a third-party event producer, through to total event production.
  • Assess technical and on-site health and safety risks and be alert for live issues on event days and be primed to react accordingly – including producing and administrating risk assessments for events hosted by ScreenSkills and third-party events
  • Research, seek out and establish a working relationship with potential industry speakers for events establishing yourself as lead contact
  • Create, collate, and maintain a speakers database.
  • Ensure you are up to date with developments in virtual event delivery and platform options and advise third-parties who may not be
  • Curate speakers, programmes and support scripting for events
  • Post event booking pages on the ScreenSkills website and monitor sign up
  • Work across multiple events with multiple timelines
  • Travel to locations for site visits, kick-off meetings and post-event feedback sessions
  • As required, brief event speakers
  • Produce technical briefing checklists, call sheets and production and safety plans.
  • As required, on-the-day organising of speakers, timekeeping, and quality control, for virtual, hybrid, and in-person events to ensure we deliver a streamlined experience
  • Collate post-event feedback for ScreenSkills and third parties
  • Continue to evolve and maintain internal event processes and best practice guidelines including ScreenSkills’ compliance for recording, publishing and health and safety protocols.
  • Deliver internal training to ensure the ScreenSkills team are contributing to internal event processes and best practice guidelines correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Work with Marcomms team to ensure maximum appropriate impact for all ScreenSkills events
