Programme Assistant – Good Morning Britain and Lorraine
Freelance Talent Pool
London
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the ITV Breakfast team as a freelance Programme Assistant, working across Good Morning Britain and Lorraine. Our shows provide a broad mixture of content across current affairs, entertainment news and consumer issues and exclusive interviews with celebrities and the day’s news makers.
You will be playing a key role, right at the heart of our dynamic team as the first point of contact for the department, assisting our editorial and production teams with a variety of tasks. The PA role is a very varied one and you will be responsible for printing scripts/ briefs and re-writes, organising all travel arrangements, collecting and distributing papers, raising purchase orders for programme requirements, researching and coordinating on shoots amongst other things. Purchasing and keeping on top of props for the show and generally being on hand with any requests that may come your way. You will assist in the studio and gallery overnight and in the mornings whilst both programmes are going to air. You will also attend the debrief meetings for both shows.
We need someone who has a real thirst for news, and passion for television. Very strong communication and organisational skills are key and you must have excellent interpersonal skills, being able to work well with all types of people across the programmes. The ability to work well within a team and manage your time effectively is also essential. You will have a strong eye for detail and a keen interest and passion for television. You must have a flexible approach to work as you will be working within a team of Programme Assistants on a rotational basis. This is breakfast television so expect early starts and night shifts!
Please send your CV together with a cover letter explaining why you are suited this role. If you have the experience and enthusiasm we need, then we’d love to hear from you!
