JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Social Media Community Manager, Golfing World
Department: Magazine & Digital
Main Purpose of Job: Overseeing Golfing World’s social media content, particularly regarding branded partners. Working with the wider GW team on social media strategy to help conceive imaginative content to grow and engage targeted audiences across social platforms.
Creative strategy, content management, analyzing and reporting on performance are key parts of the job.

Salary: Approx. £30,000
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
Contract Type / Length: Fixed term (12 months)
Location: Stockley Park, Uxbridge and Chiswick Park, London

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
 Working with Branded content team on creative strategy to develop and activate engaging social media content for a variety of brands, across Golf and some non-Golf commercial content
 Planning, scheduling and implementing all social media content with accuracy across multiple platforms
 Analysing performance across various social media platforms to provide insights and learnings
 Liaise with production team regarding content from location
 Work closely with the commercial team to ensure client’s objectives are met in both creative storytelling and performance
 Help manage the day-to-day social voice of Golfing World
 Implement social media strategy across GW social platforms
 Research, plan and propose targeted social and editorial campaigns through organic social content, influencer marketing programs, and multiple digital content distribution strategies
 Assist in the development of the voice and tone for major projects including the launch of new social accounts, brand partnerships, promotional campaigns, etc.
 Monitor best practices and trends in organic and branded social media
 Analyse data to optimise content with the goal of achieving high social engagement
 Monitor content performance to provide insights back to Commercial Manager and Senior/Executive Producer with learnings and recommendations to continuously innovate and improve branded content campaigns
 You may also be required to carry out any other duties which are within the scope and purpose of the job

Person Specification

Knowledge and Experience
Mandatory
 Professional social media work experience – 1-2 years working in a similar environment
 Proficient understanding of how all social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.) and how their communities work, including emerging platforms
 Experience tracking and reporting performance of social media content
 Demonstrated experience in client-facing capacity with proven track record of client satisfaction
 Understanding of legal requirements for sponsored posts

Desirable
 Interest in Golf and other sports
 1-2 years working in a similar environment
 Experience writing “on-brand” copy to support media asset publication
Skills and Abilities
Mandatory
 Ability to analyse creative content performance, using social consumption data, to drive future strategy
 Excellent client-facing skills with a proven track record of client satisfaction
 Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environmen
 Excellent verbal and written presentation and communication skills
 Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a keen eye for detail
 Team player and able to collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

 Strong visual eye with regard to the creation of graphics, selection of images, and video for social publishing

Qualifications and Training
Mandatory
 Educated to degree standard within journalism, design or media studies – or with equivalent work experience

 Experience using the Adobe suite including understanding of Photoshop and Premiere
