Brave Bison is looking for a creative and strategically driven social media coordinator, to manage our community of conscious living enthusiasts and to create a hub of “all things good”. The social media coordinator is an essential role, acting as the voice of the channel and the person that drives the conversation with our audience across platforms. The ideal candidate needs to stay up to date on the latest social trends within the community and learn best practices. You’ll need to be someone who can create weekly reports that are data driven and inform the editorial team on actionable insights. Success in this position comes from quick reactive thinking and great organisation skills, working in a fast paced environment. A keen interest in sustainability is highly important.


The candidate must demonstrate the ability to:


– Work to briefs to source great, shareable sustainability related content

– Publish and schedule video content across multiple social platforms.

– Identify social trends and feed them back to the editorial team.

– Manage a community and connect with an audience, creating a hub of “all things good.

– Be an outgoing and engaged member of the team, confident in presenting fresh ideas and be able to fulfil content requirements to bring them to fruition

– Help develop pitching documents and respond to business proposals that require social media performance analytics

– Understand how key platforms work – YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram – this individual should be a social media obsessive

– A flexible attitude to work is needed in order to handle communications outside of normal business hours.

-Is culturally clued up and in particular is immersed in internet culture, understanding what Gen Z love to watch and engage with on social platforms.


Key attributes / qualifications:

  • A proactive self-starter who is equally happy working under direction
  • Experience & understanding of social media technologies – Someone who understands the nuances of the different platforms. We don’t just want to publish the same piece of content on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram etc. We want it to be platform specific.
  • Commitment, knowledge and passion for the digital media landscape and social platforms
  • Natural commercial instinct – they know what content works for the audience
  • Ability to meet pre-agreed KPI’s and requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication – good written skills and applying an editorial tone of voice are key.
  • Confidence in working under pressure and to deadlines
  • Strategize and implement the social media strategy on a seasonal and yearly basis
  • Oversee all social media channels including Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, Snapchat
  • 1-2 years experience community management for a publication or brand
  • Experience with Facebook manager, analytics and scheduling tools.
